Naveena Steel orders Primetals caster, rolling mill
Naveena Steel Mills (NSM) has contracted Primetals to supply a new continuous billet caster and rebar rolling mill for its prospective mini-mill in Port Qasim, Karachi, Kallanish learns from the technology supplier.
The mill will produce up to 270,000 tonnes/year of 8-40mm diameter rebar, with billet directly hot-charged to the rolling mill to reduce energy costs. An inline induction furnace placed before the first rolling stand will serve to equalise the billet…
