Navarre Minerals commissions third ferronickel smelter in Indonesia
Australian miner Navarre Minerals has started to produce ferronickel at its third smelter in Indonesia’s Weda Bay Industrial Park, Kallanish learns.
The former two smelters were commissioned in December 2021 and January 2022 respectively. Each smelter could reach 12,000 tonnes/year of ferronickel capacity.
Construction work on the project started in February 2021, and Navarre Minerals expects to finally commission four identical smelters in total.
