Power deal boosts Myanmar’s industrial development
Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries reports it has signed a build-operate-transfer deal for a 225MW gas-fired power plant in Myanmar’s Mingyan. Myanmar plans to expand its capacity at the No.4 Steel Works in Mingyan, Kallanish notes.
The $300 million gas-fired power plant is due to be completed next year, Sembcorp says. It already has an agreement to sell power from the plant to the government and to operate the plant for 22 years.
