Spending cutbacks threaten Myanmar steel development
The Myanmar legislature, the Pyidaugnsu Hluttaw, has been told by the public accounts committee that it should suspend 44 projects state-owned enterprises or cut government spending. Among these projects are important upgrades to the country’s steelmaking capacity, Kallanish notes.
