Mughal sees increased shipments, depressed steel margins
Mughal Steel’s net sales rose 16% on-year in the first fiscal quarter through September to PKR 7.73 billion ($48.4 million), while net profit surged 33% to PKR 352.4m, Kallanish notes.
Higher sales were thanks to growth in volumes shipped and increased copper ingot exports, the Pakistani steelmaker says without providing tonnages. Overall export sales skyrocketed to PKR 554m from only PKR 14m a year earlier.
