DB sees Italian rail traffic spike
DB Cargo Italia Services has moved over 1 million tonnes of steel for its Italian customers in 2021, making it the first year the service has passed that mark.
The figure in 2020 was just 645,000t, down some 20% on the preceding years. Latest statistics show that steel transports have recovered from their pandemic-induced slump. Even more, they have seen a sharp increase over pre-Covid levels, Kallanish learns from German parent group DB (Deutsche Bahn) Cargo.
