Monsoon, weak automotive demand curtail JSW Steel production
JSW Steel has reported a -8% on-year drop in crude steel production in the second fiscal quarter through September to 3.84 million tonnes. Flat and long products output fell -8% and -9% respectively to 2.71mt and 820,000t. The lower output was due to a prolonged severe monsoon and decline in automotive sector demand.
