Mongolia to boost coking coal exports to China
After an unremarkable year, Mongolia is ramping up raw material exports to China, including coking coal. The country is expanding its mining sector and boosting its transport network, said Batnairamdal Otgonshar, Vice-Minister of Mongolia’s Mining and Heavy Industry Ministry.
Annual coking coal shipments from Mongolia to China are expected to reach 36.7 million tonnes, which would be a 161% surge from 2021, Kallanish notes.
