MMK's heavy plate mill ramps up production
Russian steelmaker MMK's 10-year old heavy plate mill-5000 produced 1.2 million tonnes of wide heavy plate in 2019, its highest output since the mill was launched in 2009, the company says. The 32.9% on-year increase in output is largely due to higher demand from large diameter pipe producers, one of the key industries the mill has been commissioned to supply.
