MMK increases deliveries to shipbuilders
Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) increased its deliveries to the shipbuilding industry by 11% on-year in 2015 to 86,000 tonnes. The follows 37% growth in 2014. The firm supplies half of all steel sold to the Russian shipbuilding industry, MMK says in a report sent to Kallanish.
The key customer in this sector is United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), with which the Russian steelmaker signed in 2011 a memorandum on strategic cooperation. MMK’s steel …
