MMK contracts Danieli to revamp wire rod mill
MMK has contracted Danieli to revamp its wire rod mill 170 for €5 million ($6.1m). The work, scheduled for completion in 2019, will improve the mechanical properties of the steel produced and reduce maintenance downtime, Kallanish learns from the Russian steelmaker.
The mill, originally supplied by Danieli in 2006, produces up to 765,000 tonnes/year of 5.5-22mm wire rod and 8-16mm rebar.
