Mitsubishi funds Indonesia steel subsidiary
Japan's Mitsubishi Steel Corporation announced last week that it has decided to increase the capital of its Indonesian subsidiary, Jatim Taman Steel.
In order to meet fast-growing demand in the ASEAN market, the steel mill is considering expanding its production capacity, Kallanish notes. At the same time, the plant is also considering the possibility of using renewable electricity in electric arc furnace production to produce green steel.
