Malaysian steel federation blasts gas price hike
The Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry Federation (Misif) has attacked plans to increase local gas prices despite a deal to cut prices over the coming six months. It fears prices will rise to over the level of regional rivals, putting local producers, including steelmakers, at a disadvantage, Kallanish notes.
Gas Malaysia Bhd will cut its gas prices to MYR 26.31/MMBtu ($5.83/MMBtu) over January-June from $27.05/MMBtu over the previous six months. Misif says …
