Minmetals Yinggang produces extra thick plate
Minmetals Yingkou Medium Plate (Minmetals Yinggang) mass produced the 475mm extra-thick plate from its No.2 continuous slab caster on 31 May, Kallanish notes. It is the world’s thickest straight arc continuous slab caster.
The machine was designed and manufactured by MCC’s CISDI Group, with an annual production capacity of 1.3 million tonnes. It can produce plate with a thickness of 335mm, 375mm and 475mm, and a width of 2,000-2,400mm.
