Minmetals starts to mine Nihe iron mine
China Minmetals's subsidiary, Shen Kan Qinghuangdao General Engineering Design & Research Institute, began to mine the first phase of Nihe iron mine, located in Anhui's Lujiang, on 28 December 2023.
Kallanish notes that mining area of Nihe Iron Mine is 2.88 square kilometres with mining depth from -380 to -1,180 metres. Its magnetite iron ore and pyrite ore reserves total 180 million tonnes and 140mt respectively.
