Minmetals constructs Chentaigou Iron Mine
China’s Minmetals Group on Monday held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Chentaigou Iron Mine in Laoning Province in northeast China, Kallanish notes.
In 2022, the project was listed as one of the first batch of major projects under the “Cornerstone Plan”, which hopes to increase China's voice in iron ore markets by expanding domestic production. The approval process has been faster than usual under the government push.
