Mingfu Steel begins capacity replacement project construction

China’s Mingfu Iron & Steel broke ground during a ceremony last Saturday on its ironmaking and steelmaking plants at its capacity replacement project. The steelworks is located in the Coal Chemical Circular Economy Industrial Park in Jishan County. The company says it will build a 1,230-cubic metre blast furnace with 1.8 million tonnes/year of iron capacity, and a 130-tonne converter with a design capacity of 2m t/y of steel, Kallanish notes.
