Mill output picks up in US
Raw steel production in the US picked up pace last week, Kallanish learns from the latest American Iron and Steel Institute report.
An estimated 1.813 million short tons of raw steel products were produced by American steelmakers during the week ended 8 January. This was a 1.6% week-on-week rise and the highest weekly amount seen in the last four weeks. Output is up 4.4% from the 1.736m st produced in the same week last year.
