Middle East sees uncharacteristic production dip in February
Crude steel production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report registered an uncharacteristic decline in February, by 0.9% on-year to 3.18 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
This came despite largest producer Iran’s estimated 11.5% output growth to 2.3mt, which took January-February output up 10.8% on-year to 4.95mt.
