Middle East production increases despite UAE, Saudi drops
Crude steel production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report increased 3.8% on-year in July to 3.1 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
The region’s largest steelmaker, Iran, is estimated to have grown output 11.1% to 2.2mt, taking January-July output up 6.4% on-year to 14.99mt.
