Mid-East February steel output falls sequentially
Crude steel production in the Middle East, consisting of ten countries, dropped 10.4% on-month in February but surged 10.8% on-year to 4.18 million tonnes. Regional output in January-February rose 17% on-year to 8.86mt, Kallanish observes.
Iran, the largest steel producer reporting to the World Steel Association, produced 2.24mt of crude steel in February, down 14% from January but soaring 14.3% on-year. Two-month output of 4.84mt was up 26.5% on-year.
