Mid-East output rises despite UAE slump

Crude steel production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report surged 16% on-year in March to 3.18 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. This was despite a -15% slump in United Arab Emirates, where almost 90% of output is accounted for by Emirates Steel, to 212,000t.
