Mid-East output drops again as Iran builds stock
Crude steel production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report fell for a third consecutive month in June, by -8.5% on-year to 3.26 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
This came despite Iran continuing to buck the trend with a 5.3% production hike to 2.43mt. This took its January-June output up 10.2% on-year to 13.89mt.
