Mid-East demand to contract, North Africa looks better
Middle East and North Africa finished steel demand should fall -0.6% on-year in 2019 to 68.2 million tonnes, following a -4.3% slump in 2018 to 68.6mt, worldsteel says in its April short-range outlook (SRO). The 2019 estimate has been revised down from 2.8% growth projected for the region in worldsteel’s previous SRO last October.
