Mexico's steel industry recovers: Canacero
The Mexican steel sector is seen improving its main indicators on-year in 2021, Kallanish learns from national steel association Canacero.
Apparent steel consumption (ASC) should rise between 27-29% y-o-y to almost 28 million tonnes. Meanwhile, annual crude steel production is estimated at 19mt, up by 13% over 2020. This volume, however, will be slightly down compared to the pre-Covid level of 20.2mt in 2018.
