Mexico’s Simec raises shipments, revenue in second quarter
Mexican long steel producer Grupo Simec (GS) saw second-quarter sales volumes improve versus Q1, Kallanish learns from the company’s latest report. These were also up compared to the same period last year.
The steelmaker sold 536,000 tonnes of steel in Q2, up 12.5% over Q1 and 6% more compared to a year earlier. From total shipments, structural steel comprised 392,000t, up 40,000t on-quarter and by 10.7% compared to April-June 2023.
