Mexico’s June flats output falls, alloys rise
Mexican flat-rolled steel production decreased month-on-month in June, except for alloys, Kallanish notes.
According to data from local statistics institute Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi), Mexico produced 276,640 tonnes of hot rolled coil in June, down 36,239t from May and 15.7% less on-year. Production in the first six months of the year was approximately 1.91 million tonnes, just 0.4% less compared with January-June 2023.
