Mexico’s ArcelorMittal plant catches fire, production reduced
ArcelorMittal has reported a fire at its main steel plant in Mexico, Kallanish notes.
The accident at the Lázaro Cárdenas facility derived from the failure of a transformer in one electric arc furnace on 10 March. The technical personnel of the company and firefighters controlled the accident and put the area out of operation, ArcelorMittal says.
It is understood that no one was harmed in the accident.
