Mexican steel exports rise in April
Mexican steel exports increased by 32.3% year-on-year to 1.4 million tonnes in the four months of 2016. Imports also grew by 5.8% to 3.6mt y-o-y during the same period, Kallanish learns from Mexican government statistics.
The USA remain the main destination for Mexican exports, with nearly 1.1mt of steel products landed between January and April. The volume of exports into the neighbouring country increased substantially, growing by 40.2% y-o-y.
