Metinvest grows earnings on higher steel, ore prices
Metinvest, a vertically-integrated steel producer and miner with assets in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy and the UK, benefitted from higher demand and steel prices in the first half of 2018.
The company's H1 revenue increased by 58% on-year to $6.2 billion, Ebitda rose 59% to $1.3 billion, and profit margin increased by 1 percentage point to 22%. The company made a net profit of $668 million, nine times more than in H1 2017, Metinvest says.
