Metinvest favours semis over pig iron output
Metinvest increased crude steel production in the first half of the year by 1% on-year to 3.96 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
The Azovstal plant saw flat steel output on-year at 2.05mt due to the major overhaul of blast furnace No.4, which was shut down in March and relaunched in late May, as demand recovered. The Ilyich plant increased steel production by 2% to 1.09mt.
