Metinvest expands exports following HRC mill revamp
Metinvest’s Ilyich Steelworks has completed hot tests of a hydraulic coiler to produce new hot rolled coil at its hot strip mill 1700, the company says.
The new equipment makes it possible to increase the weight of HRC to 32 tonnes and thickness from 8mm to 16mm. Until now, HRC with a thickness greater than 8mm has not been commercially produced in Ukraine, the firm says.
