Metalloinvest increases pig iron production with BF overhaul
Russian iron ore and steel producer Metalloinvest has restarted blast furnace No.3 at its Ural Steelworks following modernisation, the company says.
Following the upgrade, the plant will increase pig iron production by 8% to more than 1 million tonnes/year, Kallanish notes. Total investment is almost RUB 3.9 billion ($53.5 million). The main process equipment was supplied by Danieli Corus.
