Merchant pig iron prices rise tentatively
The US market continues to drive merchant pig iron price increases by an array of alleged purchases, however largely unconfirmed by Kallanish press time.
The apparent rise started with Mexico finalising a 30,000-tonne Brazilian tender for late-November to early-December loading in Rio de Janeiro, at $480-485/tonne fob. This is in line with new Brazilian offers since last week, which increased after one Mexico and another US sale.
