MEP issues unprecedented emission approval standards
China has launched concrete guidance for issuing emissions approvals to the steel and cement industries effective 27 July, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP).
The guidance sets out in detail requirements for companies to apply and be approved to operating polluting facilities. These include emission standards concerning water, gas and solid waste, self-monitoring requirements and processes for official inspections.
