MEP disgraces Longmen for illegal new added capacity
China’s Longmen Iron & Steel has been publicly disgraced by an inspection group sent by the Ministry of Environment Protection on 11 April because it added 1.5 million tonnes/year of iron capacity without getting approval.
Inspections have recently found several local official and steel companies failing to fulfill thier duties, but how authorities will rectify this remains uncertain, Kallanish notes.
