MENA developing economies growth seen rebounding in 2016
Growth in Middle East and Africa developing economies is expected to rebound to 5.1% on-year in 2016 and 5.8% in 2017, despite several major conflicts and an oil price assumption of $49/barrel this year, according to the World Bank. This follows estimated growth of 2.5% in 2015.
This would exceed economic growth in the high income oil exporters – or six nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council – which is forecast at 2.7% in 2016 and 3% in 2017.
