Megasteel closure opens import opportunities
The closure of Malaysian hot rolled coil supplier Megasteel in August is boosting the share prices of local re-rollers which will now be able to by the cheapest material available. As this is likely to mean imports, China may have another opportunity to boost exports to the Asean country, Kallanish notes.
