Megasa begins decontamination work at Narón plant
Spanish nuclear safety agency CSN has issued a partially favourable assessment of the cleaning and decontamination plan presented by steelmaker Megasa. This after a radioactive fusion of Cesium-137 was detected in the electric arc furnace on 8 June, forcing the company to stop operations at its plant in Narón, Kallanish learns.
