Export tariffs, lower demand hit Mechel's third-quarter shipments
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel saw output of most products in the third quarter remain largely at the previous quarter’s level amid lower prices, decreased mining output and new export tariffs.
Sales volumes fell for washed coal, ferrosilicon, long and flat rolled steel products, iron ore concentrate and metallurgical coke. But they increased for stampings and remain flat for anthracite, the company says in a statement sent to Kallanish.
