Mining logistics hit Mechel's profitability
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel's consolidated revenue increased by 5% on-year to RUB 312.6 billion ($4.9 billion) in 2018, and net profit rose 9% to $197 million. But Ebitda margin decreased by 3 percentage points to 24% on the back of lower shipments in the coal mining segment due to a considerable shortage of rolling stock in the second half of 2018.
