Asia demand lifts Mechel coal sales
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel saw a reduction in output of some products in the first half of the year, although run-of-mine coal production increased on higher demand.
Sales volumes increased for washed coal, rails, forgings, long and flat rolled steel products. But they fell for iron ore concentrate, stampings, ferrosilicon and metallurgical coke, the company says in a statement seen by Kallanish.
