Mechel plans mining, steel output increase in 2019

Miner and steelmaker Mechel's commercial mining and steel shipment volumes decreased on-year in 2018 due to steelmaking upgrades and rolling stock shortages at mines, the company says. As a result, the company sold 7.2 million tonnes of washed coking coal, -10% less in in 2017, with merchant coking coal volumes totalling 4.3mt, down -11% on-year.
