Mechel’s Chelyabinsk increases first-quarter sales
Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK), part of Mechel, increased sales of profiles and rail products by 10% on-year in the first quarter of 2020, the company says. Rail sales grew 64%.
In all, production amounted to 798,000 tonnes of rolled steel, Kallanish notes.
Rail shipments to Russian Railways increased in the three months to 103,000t. This is double on Q4 2019 and almost three times more than in the first quarter of last year.
