Mechel's Chelyabinsk produces new beams for European market
Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK) has launched production of two new wide-flange H-beams whose key customers are European steel structure fabricators, Kallanish learns from parent Mechel.
The new beam types are HEA220 and HEB220, made in compliance with the European standard DIN EN 10025-2. The first batch will be shipped before the end of April. The plant is due to sell up to 5,000 tonnes of these products by year-end.
