Mechel taps 370,000t coking coal for Russian steelmakers
Mechel has launched a new longwall at the V.I. Lenina mine, part of subsidiary Southern Kuzbass Coal Company, which possesses 369,000 tonnes of coking coal that will be supplied to Russian steelmakers.
“The launch of this new longwall will enable us to quickly boost production of coking coal which is high in market demand,” Mechel Mining chief executive Pavel Shtark says in a note sent to Kallanish.
