Mechel Service hikes high-margin product shipments
Mechel trading arm Mechel-Service saw flat on-year steel shipments in the first half of the year, the company says. The volume amounted to 724,000 tonnes, Kallanish notes.
In the first quarter the company posted a 3% on-year increase in shipments to 350,000t (see Kallanish passim).
H1 shipments increased of high-margin products, such as beams, rope, stainless steel sheet and strip. However, deliveries of rebar, mesh and structural shapes decreased.
