Mechel sees coal, steel output grow on-quarter

Russian miner and steel producer Mechel saw coal, pig iron and steel production all increased quarter-on-quarter in the second quarter of 2016, the company’s first half operational results show. Coal production (run-of-mine) grew by 4% q-o-q in Q2 2016 to 5,864,000 tonnes. Pig iron output rose by 3% to 1,039,000t and steel production increased by 2% to 1,067,000t, both q-o-q also.
