New Mechel Sibirginskaya coal face adds 915,000t reserves
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel has launched a new coal face at its Sibirginskaya mine, the company tells Kallanish.
The new face, designated 3-2-7, has reserves of 915,000 tonnes of high-quality coking coal, the company says. After enrichment in the Siberia-based central concentrating plant, the product will be delivered to Russian steelmakers.
The investment amounted to $5.4 million. Mining is conducted at a depth of 810m.
