Mechel increases iron ore production in April
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel’s Korshunovsky mine increased iron ore production 41% on-year in April to 567,000 tonnes, the company says.
The mine has continued to operate normally throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The development of… the Rudnogorsk mine allowed to significantly increase the number of iron ore reserves prepared for mining,” says Korshunovsky managing director Mikhail Mazhukin.
